Aspects of Energy – A round Table discussion.
On Monday, January 23rd a round table discussion was held in Wynn’s Hotel, Abbey Street, Dublin, in partnership with the Mary Mulvihill Association.
The discussion was an in depth exploration of the concept, Energy, from scientific, technical and cultural perspectives, involving a number of experts. The panel consisted of :
• Prof Peter Gallagher, professor of astrophysics, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies
• Dr Margie McCarthy, director of research and policy insights, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland
• Prof Niall Moyna, professor of clinical exercise physiology, Dublin City University
• Ailbhe Smyth, former head of women’s studies, UCD, campaigner and activist
The discussion was moderated by science communication researcher Brian Trench a pioneer of science communication. The association’s annual science media competition for students this year has the theme, Energy.
